Catherine Russell received her Bachelor's of Science in Education with an emphasis on K-12 Art Education from Missouri State University in 2004. Catherine taught Pk-8th grade art at Clever Elemiddle for 17 years. She received her Master's in Studio Art and Theory from Drury University in 2013. Throughout her career, Catherine has been active in the Missouri Art Education Association holding the Elementary Art Teacher council position from 2010-2012 before transitioning to District 10 council position in 2012-15. She routinely presents at MAEA conventions, presenting her lessons and techniques to fellow art teachers around the state of Missouri.

Catherine opened Art Zone in May of 2014. She is also the co-owner of Studio Fitness with Laura Rush since 2015.
